My Story
My boxing career started back in 1975 in Orenburg (my home town in Russia) School of Boxing. I was 12 at the time. As a kid, I was often picked on for being a red head and I came to boxing to become stronger and to challenge myself.
Boxing gave it all to me and much more. I built up long lasting friendships, was nominated a regional champion and a city champion a number of times, was a participant of USSR boxing tournaments from 1979-1984, was a champion of Russia in the junior league in 1979, was a champion of several national and international boxing competitions. Overall, I participated in 179 boxing matches and won 165 times. Boxing brought so much excitement into my life that my decision to become a boxing coach came very natural.
My coaching career started in 1986 and was successful and rewarding from the very beginning. My students became champions and medalists of Russia and USSR. I started my boxing career in Toronto in 2003 after I received my coaching license from the Boxing Ontario Federation. My students had always demonstrated outstanding results in the provincial competitions in Canada. Some of my students became champions and medalists across different weight and age categories. In 2007, one of my students - Tamerlan Kuliev - was nominated a silver medalist of Canada among adults.
My dedication to my students and my style of teaching that combines personal challenges with fun and discipline define me as a coach.
I am looking forward to working with new students that are interested in private classes and are willing to commit to a schedule. I welcome students from different backgrounds with different levels of boxing skills.
Even if you are very new to the sport and just want to box for fitness, don't be shy, I will introduce you to boxing and awaken you to your new found abilities.
Boxing is the ultimate workout. In boxing there will be times when you are pushed past your limits. I will motivate you and will customize my approach specifically to fit your needs.
